Subjects and Verbs
Presents information which will enable you to identify verbs, subjects and prepositional phrases in sentences.
 

	Identifying Verbs Identification of a tense-carrying verb, a verb phrase and an adverb in a sentence.
	Identifying Subjects Distinction between a simple subject, a complete subject and a compound subject.
	Prepositional Phrases Identification of a prepositional phrase in a sentence.  Distinction between a prepositional phrase and an infinitive.

Subject-Verb Agreement
Introduces rules governing subject-verb agreement.  Discusses problems and solutions for subject-verb agreement.
 

	Intervening Words Principle of subject-verb agreement.  Errors in subject-verb agreement caused by intervening words.
	Compound and Inverted Subjects Maintenance of subject-verb agreement with compound subjects.  Errors in subject-verb agreement caused by inverted sentences.
	Indefinite and Relative Pronouns Maintenance of subject-verb agreement with indefinite and relative pronouns.

Pronouns
Covers the use of pronouns in fundamental sentence structures.  Describes the basic concepts of pronoun reference, pronoun agreement, and consistent point of view.
 

Pronoun Use Application of a clear referent for a pronoun.  Pronoun-verb agreement.  Consistent point of view.

Irregular Verbs
Discusses the use of irregular verbs in written and spoken English.  Covers some of the more troublesome irregular verbs and examines the differences between transitive and intransitive verbs.
 

	Irregular Verb Use Difference between regular and irregular verbs.  Correct simple past and past participle forms of several common irregular verbs.
	Transitive and Intransitive Verbs Difference between transitive and intransitive verbs.  Selection of the correct irregular verb based on whether it is transitive or intransitive.
